Scope of work.

Installation of LTHW above ground heating pipework to heat interface units in residential properties.

What they wanted.

A reactive, collaborative and helpful subcontractor with a flexible outlook to partner e.on in achieving a futureproof supply of building energy.

How we helped.

Working collaboratively with e.on Community Energy we installed low temperature hot water distribution pipework to connect a local energy centre with heating pipework within 360 first-phase properties.

The vast majority of the work took place within the confined space of the buildings’ risers and corridors where a fulltime team of four pipefitters completed installations in addition to arc welding under strict health and safety guidelines.

Installations were to e.on’s designs and comprised screwed-steel heating pipework of a reducing diameter: 65mm to 32mm. The work also included electrical installations and Modbus interface wiring for e.on to monitor energy use remotely at their Energy Hub for billing each household. Heat interface units with energy consumption meters have also been fitted to each dwelling. Pressure testing, thermal insulation, water treatment and hydraulic balancing have been carried out to set up accurate flow rates to the design values, which maintain constant water circulation at all times.


The first phase of the project of 360 studio, 1, 2 and 3 bedroomed apartments and penthouses are now complete in addition to 121 affordable homes managed by Curo Group.
